Fatunbi Oluwole Abiodun (PhD)
‘Wole is systems agronomist with depth of knowledge and experience in the theory and practiced of the Innovation systems approach for agricultural research and development. He possesses a doctorate degree in Agronomy with specialization in Soil fertility and Farming systems, from University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He currently works with the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), as the lead Specialist (Innovation Systems and Partnerships), where he leads the scientific implementation of various projects including the Sub-Saharan Africa Challenge Program (SSA CP). Prior to joining FARA in 2008, he worked; at the Agricultural and Rural Development Research Institute (ARDRI), University of Fort Hare, South Africa, as a researcher/ lecturer; at the Total Development International Foundation (TODEV) as Program Manager, at the ARATI Environmental Limited as a soil fertility management consultant; at the Savannah Sugar Company limited as field agronomist, and at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) Ibadan (as a Visiting Research Fellow). He has over 15 years progressive work experience (post qualification) utilizing broad based skills in field and laboratory research methodologies in agronomy, farming systems, soil fertility and nutrient management, renewable resources, technology transfer , Innovation systems etc. This is coupled with his progressive teaching and graduate mentorship experience, having taught courses in soil fertility/ plant nutrition, general agronomy, farming systems, experimental design with biometrics at both graduate and undergraduate level. He has facilitated many training sessions on agricultural related subject and has mentored over 12 postgraduate scholars at MSc, MPhill and PhD levels; he is also an adjunct scholar at the University of Ghana, Legon. He is well lettered with over 90 publications to his credit.
