I am a senior scientist at the Center for Development Research (ZEF), University of Bonn, Germany. I have worked an agricultural economist and development specialist for several years at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in Mexico. Before that, I was employed at the University of Hohenheim (Germany) and its Food Security Center, where I also did her doctoral degree in agricultural sciences and her MSc in tropical agriculture. I currently do research on sustainability standards, human rights and food security in Latin-America, Africa and Asia in a joint project with the private sector and civil society. I have extensive inter- and transdisciplinary research experience in all three continents with having led or been involved in projects related to biomass uses and bioeconomies, sustainable agricultural intensification, food security and gender. My focus has always been on increasing intra- and intergenerational equity while decreasing poverty and food insecurity.
