The Ge specification requires that a gaia block report a URL that a use's client will be able to achieve. In commit, most Gaea hubs will application URLs with DNS entries for hostnames (though URLs with IP speech would manufacture as well). However, even though the spec uses URLs, that doesn't unavoidably make an opinionated assert on underlying mechanisms for that URL. If a browser second unworn URL device which endow lookups without traditional DNS (for illustrate, with the Blockstack Name System equivalent), then gaia hubs could return URLs accomplish that contrivance. As the Blockstack ecosystem project and verify these kinds of form, we expect users would deploy Ge hubs that would take advantage.
